Public Arts and Humanities Partners

Arts in McNairy is fortunate to have many partners who make community arts programs affordable and accessible in McNairy County. Chief among these is Tennessee Arts Commission who provides funding and technical support for community arts programs across the state. A major portion of the funding for the Commission's grants and other forms of assistance comes from the Tennessee specialty license plate program. Every specialty tag purchased helps fund community arts programs like those sponsored by Arts in McNairy. Arts in McNairy is committed to initiating productive local conversations, preserving cultural heritage, curating exhibitions, improving local literacy, and a number of other public humanities programs. The organization is often supported in these efforts by the state's humanities agency, Humanities Tennessee. The 2020 additions and improvements to the McNairy County Trail of Music Legends, was substantially funded by Humanities Tennessee and the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act economic stabilization plan of 2020.
