Arts in McNairy was founded in 2001 with four committees providing programming in music, visual arts, performing arts and literary appreciation. Since that time the organization has added three committees to respond to the community's diverse needs for cultural assessment and preservation, fine handcraft and culinary arts. Arts in McNairy and the organization's leadership have been recognized at the local, state and national levels for excellence in rural arts planning and development.
